MK Guide Recommends

Shin-Okubo Korea Town is Tokyo’s go-to destination for all things Korean—from sizzling samgyeopsal and spicy tteokbokki to K-pop merch, beauty products, and dessert cafés straight out of Seoul. Centered around Shin-Okubo Station on the JR Yamanote Line, this vibrant neighborhood offers a sensory overload of Korean signage, idol-themed shops, and tightly packed eateries. While some come for skincare hauls or photo ops with cardboard cutouts of BTS, others line up for late-night hot pots or 30cm-long cheese corn dogs. Youthful, energetic, and constantly evolving, Korea Town remains a microcosm of Japan’s long-running love affair with Hallyu culture.
