Chomeiji Temple, established in 619 AD, is the 31st temple of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage. Visitors ascend 808 stone steps through a serene, tree-lined path to reach the temple complex, which includes a three-story pagoda and main hall. The temple is dedicated to the deity Kannon and is associated with prayers for longevity. From the temple grounds, visitors can enjoy expansive views of Lake Biwa and the surrounding landscape.
