Established in 1950 by the 16th head of the Hosokawa family, Moritatsu Hosokawa, the Eisei Bunko Museum preserves and exhibits the cultural heritage amassed by the Hosokawa clan over centuries. The collection includes over 6,000 artworks and approximately 88,000 historical documents, featuring eight National Treasures and 35 Important Cultural Properties.
