Zensuiji is a peaceful, forested temple nestled into the hills of Konan, offering a deep sense of calm and historical significance. Founded in the 8th century and rebuilt during the Kamakura period, its Hondō (main hall) is a designated National Treasure—an exquisite example of medieval Japanese Buddhist architecture. The temple is named after a “zen sui” (pure water) spring that flows behind the main hall and is believed to have healing properties.
