The Hachimanyama Ropeway is a charming two-minute aerial lift that climbs the forested slopes behind Ōmihachiman, offering sweeping views of the historic merchant town and Japan’s largest lake, Biwa. At the top, you'll find the tranquil, atmospheric remains of Hachimanyama Castle, originally built by renowned warlord Toyotomi Hidetsugu in the late 16th century.
