Hokkaido Seafood, Izakaya Classic, Oysters & Venison

MK Guide Recommends

Tucked in the basement near Sapporo’s iconic clock tower, Hamakko Tokeidai carries 54 years of spirited seafood tradition into a warm, buzzing space. Rich, freshly shucked oysters arrive as raw sashimi or miso-glazed “kaki dengaku,” while charcoal-grilled hokke, creamy shirako, and generous sashimi platters echo Hokkaido’s coastal bounty. The izakaya hums with camaraderie from lunch ’til late night, offering counter and table seating, private booths, and banquet rooms for groups up to 70. Whether you're drawn by their iconic oyster skewers or a hearty venison nabe course, the setting feels equal parts nostalgic and welcoming—a Sapporo classic.
