MK Guide Recommends

The Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, situated in Tennoji Park, opened in 1936 and has grown into one of the city’s top cultural landmarks. Its permanent collection features over 8,000 pieces, mainly focusing on East Asian art, such as Chinese calligraphy, Japanese paintings, Buddhist sculptures, and decorative crafts. Besides its main collection, the museum hosts special exhibits showcasing both historical and modern works from Japan and around the world. Surrounded by the greenery and historic temples of Tennoji Park, the museum provides a cultural contrast to the bustling modern city beyond its gates.
